US Chemical Facilities — 18,131 EPA Chemical Sites | Class-Coded KMZ for ATAK, TAK Aware & Google Earth
SKU: D47-CF-AL
The cold-storage warehouse, the water plant, the farm co-op at the edge of town. If one holds enough chlorine or ammonia, it files a Risk Management Program report with EPA that names the chemical and the pounds on site. Those filings are public. They don't load on a map.
WHY IT'S IN THE SHOP
This is a public-filing map for awareness and planning: the sites that file with the EPA Risk Management Program, one KMZ per state. Load the state you need. Each pin opens a card with the operator, the parent company, the address, the program level, the accident count, and the chemicals on site, shown as bars in pounds. The card is inside the file, so it opens with no signal.
WHAT'S INSIDE — 18,131 SITES, 53 FILES
- 53 KMZ files, one per state, the District of Columbia, and the territories that had a filing.
- 18,131 sites: 8,914 active filings and 9,217 deregistered filings. Deregistered sites are in a folder that is off.
- Texas is the largest, with 1,770 sites. The Virgin Islands has one.
- A card on every pin: operator, parent company, address, program level, NAICS code, EPA id, accident count, filing status, and the chemical inventory as bars in pounds.
- One pin per site. A site that reports two chemicals is filed once, under chlorine, then ammonia, then flammable mixture, then other flammable. The card still lists the full inventory.
- 11,891 pins on a Census street match. The median correction was 0.2 km. 529 had been more than 5 km off the EPA point. 6,240 addresses did not match a street and stay on the EPA coordinate. The card says which.
ICONS
Red Cl is chlorine. Gold NH is ammonia. Purple Cx is flammable mixture. Orange Fl is other flammable. Purple Tx is other toxic. Gray X is deregistered.
FILES
Pick your state from the menu. Each download is that state's KMZ. States are sold one at a time, so you load only the ground you care about.
FIELD NOTES
This is not every chemical plant. It is only the sites that file an RMP report. It is not a fence line, a plume, or an evacuation radius. Each site is one pin.
Rural plants, post office boxes, and incomplete addresses can still sit off the building. Filings can be wrong or stale. Accident histories are counts, not narratives. Quantities are as reported, in pounds.
Labs are not in this file. They are a separate product: World BSL Labs. Power reactors are not in it either.
Load it: ATAK → Import Manager → Local SD → the .kmz. TAK Aware: share the .kmz to the app. WinTAK: Import → Local file. Google Earth: File → Open.
